Sakura Bottom Straight. The tenya Bottom Straight lead head by Sakura is designed to rig shrimp, prawns and other cephalopod strips to tempt these much sought-after sparids. The Bottom Straight is instantly recognizable with its characteristic inverted cone shape. This shape, developed by the Japanese inventors of the tenya technique, was designed to provide stable support on the bottom and slow fishing with ample action. As a result, the Bottom Straight always lies flat on the bottom, and the bait in position remains clearly visible to predators. A formidably effective lure, this traditional shape has survived the generations and is still going strong! We recommend it for precise, slow vertical fishing and for areas with strong, steady currents. The Bottom Straight is fitted with an ultra-sharp Mustad main single hook, perfectly shaped to match your shrimp. The assist hook, which is connected to a 40 or 65lb. assist braid, depending on the weight of the head, is slightly smaller to fit completely into the shrimp's head and match the size of the sparid's mouth.
